Noor Bala, PhD
Postdoctoral Associate
Noor is a recent Immunology and Infectious Disease graduate from the BBS PhD program at Cornell. By using two-photon microscopy, optogenetic tools and transcriptomics, her thesis aims to characterize the spatiotemporal cues that allow T-cells in the inflamed tissue to become functionally poised to clear pathogens.
Before her PhD, Noor was a research scientist at Amgen San Francisco where she worked on the pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism of immunotherapy drugs.
She is originally from California where she received a Biochemistry M.S. from CSULB and a Neuroscience B.S. from UCLA.
When Noor is not in the lab, she likes to bake challenging pastries, work on renovating her house, and hang out with her husband and two cats.
